Riad El Fenn, Morocco

Northern Africa

Soaring in the heart of the Medina, the luxury Riad El Fenn on the Bab El Ksour is a traditional palace acting as a plush retreat boasting a chicly creative touch. This standard Riad is reachable by a five-minute walk from the Koutoubia mosque as well as Djemma Al Fna square. As you enter via its humble doorway of this maze, you enter in the three courtyards from which one of them holds marble fountains and rose petals all of which are fully lit. From here, you are then taken to a screening room, library with wi-fi, and antique wooden doors. Ahead everything is modern – leather floors, wall arts, and cozy niches.

Riad El Fenn is a welcoming hotel in Marrakech where everything right from the entrance to the ceiling is thoroughly carved and served keeping in mind the comfort of the patrons. This is the boutique of elite features and amenities of which the Hammam Spa, 21 unique suites, 3 pools, several sites to relax under the solar star, pool relaxing sites, green gardens, rosebush terrace fun, and Turkish bath are the main draws. With all these facilities, the guests get a chance to enjoy the beautiful views of the famous Atlas Mountains as well as of the city. Howell James and Vanessa Branson, the owners, surely make you feel at home!

At the Riad El Fenn, 21 rooms are your options of which many are open-plan suites and six are equipped with fireplaces. On the top, largest suites reside, which are of 900 sq ft and boast private terrace as well as small plunge pools for soaking views. Irrespective of which room you pick, all of them hold deeply giant baths, showers, several pillows, compact mattresses, delightful bath oils, aromatic candles, Egyptian cotton linens, wide beds, ACs, small or big sitting area, safe, iPod docking stations, and disabled facilities.

Among all the rooms that are present here, I would recommend Room 6 that is the Douiria Suite perched as a split living zone holding a plunge pool as well as a vast private terrace. Even the turquoise Room 10 in contrast with the orange tree courtyard is good for its carved wooden ceiling and the vision of fireplace from the bedroom and bathroom. Room 11 is also worthy due to its private verandah and deep-red walls.
