    Picturesque Blyde River Canyon

    The natural wonder located in South Africa’s Mpumalanga is the world’s third largest canyon after Grand Canyon of USA and Namibia’s Fish River Canyon. Deep by 2500 feet and lengthy by 26 kilometers, the canyon is made up of red-colored sandstones. Three Rondavels is one of the best views offered by the canyon vicinity. Renamed as Motlatse, its magnificent mountain scenery and the surrounding see sights are the best reasons to be there at least once in lifetime. The canyon passes from the Drakensberg Mountain Range and it also contains Lowveld Riparian Forest that is extended upto 100 hectares.     Its nearby Kadishi waterfall is also the second tallest tufa waterfall worldwide. In an attempt to provide information to the visitors, two offices are available at Swadini and Bourke’s Luck Potholes. Its nearby Drakensberg escarpment is also a famous region for tourism point of view as infrastructure-wise it offers first-class service.

    The place is also known for its rich biodiversity and its wildlife includes Crocodiles, Hippos, monkeys and every ancient animal of South Africa. Even, you can find species of antelope and fish. It is also known as paradise for bird-watchers as it contains almost all type of bird species. From almost 50 bird species few includes African Fish Eagle, Redbacked Mannikin, Green Twinspot, Cape Vulture, Gurney’s Sugarbird, Blackbreasted Snake Eagle, Whitebacked Vulture, and Jackal Buzzard. It contains more than one thousand plant species and some of them are very rare species and are found here only.
